Was reading this post by Culture Popped on The Last Supper. Which basically is a collection of pictures and photos depicting different spoofs of the famous Leonardo Da Vinci painting.
In case you have never seen it before, this is how the original looks like.. worn with age..
And this is the promo poster for House.
And though I have seen the photo before, I had never thought of it in this way. Now, it really seem to resemble the last supper. The outstretched arms, the knife, the position which Cameron is sitting and her relationship with House. Really interesting.
Only problem is that there is 11 "Disciples" in the photo, unless you count the patient in. One should also note that, interestingly, Wilson does betray House and says to Twitter, "I'm gonna need thirty pieces of silver".
This phenomenon has been taking place for years now. But with the onset of Flickr, it is taking on a whole new level.
The Bubble Project. A global phenomenon on the thoughts of the people. Basically, the artist pastes an empty bubble, and the public fills in the blanks.
It is a real shame that it is unlikely to happen in Singapore with our uptight system. But still, you might see it catching on in some shady alleys somewhere =3
Visit the website today, and get your own bubble, or visit the flickr page for more bubbles worldwide.
And while I am also in the mood of games, here is another time waster. If you liked Patapon, and you liked Loco-Roco, I am recommending you to play Meeblings.
Like the mentioned above, it is filled with these cute goo characters that make a cute noise when you click on them. Each of them has a special ability, and the objective of the game is to "save" the number of meeblings required. Much like a puzzle-based game.
The puzzles may be a tad hard at times, and some require timing and a whole lot of luck. But overall they are just cute even when its frustrating.
Progress can be saved if your computer accepts cookies, so not to worry ^_^x
Really cute game I found online. In Fishing Girl you are fishing in the lake to try to upgrade your items and finally reach the other island and safe your buddy. Soothing graphics and smooth gameplay. Really enjoyable as a time killer. Comes with 2 alternative endings too ^_^x
Singapore has always had the problems of commuters not filling up the center of the MRT cabins or moving to the back of buses. Some even feel that the current situation is already bad and that what they are paying should get them even more space.
Well, in a reality not to far away from us, in Japan in particular, this is the everyday scene.
Yes, these are ,Oshiya, or "pusher", which is an informal Japanese term for a worker who stands on the platform of a railway station during the morning and evening rush hours, and pushes people onto the train.
Imagine now, if Singapore were to enforce such measures. Sometimes, we just don't know how good a life we are in already.
And in case you are wondering, ooo.. it is a nice place to be in... all the inevitable touchie feelie business... well.. in the sardine pack, guys have to spend the ride with their arms raised, so as not to be accused of molestation.. imagine the great views and smells.
And while we are on the topic of photoshopping... here is a series of great videos I came across some time back... love the irony behind each one =x
A look into what goes on behind the scenes.
Another perspective of the same situation.
Finally an Asian version. Personally, I found the girl really cute with glasses and all. But maybe thats just me and being around nerdy girls for too long.
Came across the works of Yulia Brodskaya and I feel that this could be an idea for a really cool and sweet Christmas Gift for the hands on person.
There are equipment sold out there to help you make these perfect curls, and paper is cheap. Personally, when I have the time, I will be trying it out too. Have an image in my mine that it will look really elegant and sweet in a shadow box frames you can buy from IKEA.
As christmas draws nearer, and we rush to get that last minute pressies, here are a few stuff that I came across that I felt were cool and unique.
First up are the frozen smiles. Found a shop in the basement of Raffles City Shopping Centre selling it. Really great and simple idea. Never look at dentures the same again.
Came across this shop on the top floor of PS that sells these lego figurines as keychains. Really neat characters like from the Star wars or the Dark Knight, and even authentic retro ones like the wizard, soldiers or even the policeman and mechanics. Bought the Joker one for $7.90.
Also at PS is this great shop called Caesars. They basically sell swords, guns and armour replica. There is another branch at Suntec. The cool part is that they have swords from both movies as well as animes such as Bleach and Samurai X. I found the miniature sword letter openers really cool.
While browsing through random shops in Marina, it also dawned that as the fashion goes towards off-shoulders... there could be a new area in gifts that can be explored.
In a double off-shoulders, you have the choice of a necklace or a choker as accessories. However, when wearing a single off-shoulder like below, sometimes a necklace might be an overkill and spoil the edge of the single off-shoulder.. and unless you are wearing a strapless bra, one of the straps is gonna be shown.
Not everyone has nicely decorated bras with really cute bra straps... that is where this gift might come in useful. Ornate bra straps can be interchanged with the existing ones to suit the occasion and the right one, can even double up as an accessory.
Stopped at Shokudo to snack while christmas shopping at Bugis Junction.
It is quite a nice quiet place with comfy seats. Suitable for that short break. Tried their Yuzu tea.
Came with lots of pulp and fruit bits. Strong in flavour.
The mango milkshake was also mmmm~ Sweet and thick with mango~
Their Tako Yaki was good too, not filled with powdery flour and not over fried.
The mushroom and cheese pizza was light and the chewy cheese just blended well. Serving is a tad small as you could carry on eating and not grow tired of it.
Finally the bill. Moderately priced and comparable to TCC. Although I feel the milkshakes beat those in TCC hands-down.
Had a mini NS men outing with the guys on the previous weekend. We were supposed to go to Ashtons for dinner, however, due to the long queue, we decided on Billy Bombers instead.
Got alittle scammed with the so called Citi bank value for $$ set meal... since the milkshake was downsized... *grumbles about not having his hand-shaken milkshake in a tin cup*
An interesting dish was the Beef Cheeks. They came well-grilled... almost looked like charcoal and bark... But on slicing, it was still pretty tender.. might be due to the high fatty content, which really makes it a challenge to finish the entire cheek.
We then made our way down to part 2. Initially we were supposed to go to Timber. However, there was a long queue once again (damn those secondary school buggers)... and we decided to shift to Clarke Quay instead...
Please Note: I have come to realise that alot of people are still unaware (myself included) of the details of the present cab fares... so this is a short break down of info you need to know when going out...
1) Peak hour surcharge: 35% of metered fare
Monday - Saturday : 5.00pm to 8.00pm
This is for all taxi companies, and can be quite similar to the midnight charge if one is not careful. Remember to take cabs only after 8pm.
2) Central Business District (CBD) surcharge: $3.00
Monday - Saturday : 5.00 pm to midnight
Remember that 5pm is the magic number. And yes, it lasts till midnight where the midnight charges comes in. One should also note the large area covered under this CBD surcharge. Sadly, orchard road is well under it. And this is only waived on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Do take note. This on top of the peak hour surcharge can make that short trip a wallet killer!!
And now, back to the story... at Clarke Quay... we were supposed to go to the PumpRoom. However, there was a long queue once again... thus we decided to go next doors to the Highlander
It is a nice Scottish bar which is a microbrewery (Our resident drinker says that it is exactly the same as PumpRoom) and specialises in Whiskey. Indoor sitting is a nice cozy environment with waitresses in shorter kilty skirts. There is also suppose to be a live rock band playing today hits, rather than the 80s music next door.
Note: They do not specialise in Cocktails. Order at own risk. This one below tasted like honeydew and sugarcane juice.
Another lesson for the night, is that when in doubt, ask. Random picking on the long list of whiskey available, might result in an unpleasant experience. Green lighting added for the effect.
On the other hand, taking time off to learn from the waitresses a thing or two about whiskey might actually pay off.
Heaven and hell. Hard to tell them apart visually. And they cost roughly the same too. Its like a McCallan and a Chivas. A World of differences.
Amazingly, finger food in terms of wedges is cheap there. For $6 you can get this nice big basket of wedges.
Great whiskey, music, short skirts and cheap wedges. The life.
And yes, he demanded that I take a better shot of him before posting it up.
Was browsing through facebook the other day, and noticed something interesting.
And yes, she is older than me, by just that much. Oh the world of difference.
Hmm.. looks like facebook has really reached a new level in popularity and reach of audience. And yes, the account does seem authentic, rather than some fan-made one...
Girls might be unfamiliar with her, but I am guessing that most guys should know her as Maria Ozawa or Miyabi.
Maybe I'm attracted to the mixed-blood, but I find that the japanese/french-canadian mix gives her quite the best of both worlds.
Looks hot with specs..
And is one of the few models I know that actually eats real food... her blog is always full of her eating all these yummy food... *drool*... her blog is also filled with these great accessories, hairstyles and pretty nails...
And she is a headphones-girl too =3
She can be your tennis partner...
Or your friendly patrol guard...
your very own "maria"...
or the hot classmate from the class next door... makes the 86" batch wish we were studying overseas...
or even that hot teacher fresh from NIE... if only NTU lecturers were...
Really cute and funny series by Matthew Inman. Called How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You.
Love the interesting view of the situation. Lame but entertaining. Much like how I think of chubbxx at times. Just a pity I can't put it into graphics like him. Do take time off to visit his other great works on his blog. Great stuff!
