When the Night Has Come.

In line with the shadow arts of Pilobolus, I also came across the works by the couple, Tim Noble and Sue Webster. Look Deeper, or rather, Darker.

Falling Apart. 2001. Mixed Media.
Real Life is Rubbish. 2002. Mixed Media.

Kiss of Death. 2003. Taxidermic animals (Carrion crows, Jackdaws, Rooks, Minks, and Brown Rats), Various Bones.

A Pair of Dirty Fucking Rats. 2005. Mixed Media.

Dirty White Trash(with Gulls). 1998. Garbage, Seagulls.

HE/SHE. 2003. Wielded Metal.
HE (Dayview). 2003. Wielded Metal.
Sunset Over Manhattan. 2003. Cigarette Packets, Tin Cans, Wooden Bench, Air Gun Pellets.

The Crack. 2004. Wielded Scrap Metal.

And if you all don't get the last work, there is a reason why it is called the crack. Treat the shadow as positive space instead and you might see the hidden portraits =P

At the 79th Oscar Awards, Pilobolus took center stage and did a shadow play of the various films featured in 2006. Happy Feet, Little Miss Sunshine, The Departed, Devil Wears Prada, and Snakes on a Plane.

And they were also featured on OPRAH. There a couple more great videos of them on youtube. If they ever come to Singapore, I am definitely going to catch them ^_^x

And I thought I was the only one with such a sense of humour :p Take a peek at the things people do, when no one is looking :3

And There’s No Explaining

:) love the witty comedy "Music and Lyrics" starring Huge Grant and Drew Barrymore. Love this video to bits :p Especially the hips~ :k

Whack-a-guy.

For all those bored during this CNY, waiting around during the lull periods between visitings, try this for a time killer :)

The fan-made Nanaca Crash is made after the eroge "Cross Channels". Detailed instructions about the game can be found on its Wikipedia article

In this game, you replay a monday morning, in which Nanaca crashes in Taichi (the poor guy) and send him flying sky high.

With each bounce, Taichi has a chance to "unintentionally" bump into the girls of the anime series, and get whacked even higher into the air.

Through out the game, you can also summon Nanaca to perform a "mid air-collision" aerial boost to send Taichi higher towards the stars. The red upwards boost can be used 3 times, while the blue downwards boost is recharged with each bounce.

And... if you manage to hit the specific girls in the right sequence, as shown in the special bar on the right, Taichi might be in for a "double-team". Remember to click on the word "Special" to activate it though :p

Difference special boosts affect Taichi differently, like the sword boost shown below.

Finally, after a hard day of being smacked around like a rag-doll, Taichi finally ends the day with a rather soft landing ^_^x.

Hilarious game that it easy to pick up, but hard to master. My high score is as shwon above ^_^x. Manage to get it by completing the elusive Youko special ^_^x Too bad, didn't get a screenshot of that amazing boost though :(

Krenz, Guo-Shau Chung. 21 year old from Taiwan. Love his drawings, especially the use of lightings, focus on the foreground, softening of the background and the use of soft lights. Pleasant and pleasing to the eyes. Love especially the details to the hair (much like CLAMP :O ) and interesting perspectives.

Check out his gallery for more of his works. Currently not drawing due to being in the army for a year. So do bookmark and check out his works again later in the year.

For the coffee lovers out there, nothing nicer than a warm cup of coffee to perk up the morning. If only latte arts are thing in Singapore =P

And who said that coffee art has to be all cute and flowery? How about the perfect cup for that cute goth chick?

The stories We make up.

Out later this year, featuring Jack Black, Be Kind Rewind. Love the website, everything is so makeshift :)

Sweetness.

Okay, as valentine's day draws closer, below are the featured places that I strongly recommend. 4 different places to suit your dreams and wallet ^_^x

First up, is Flutes at the Fort. Located at Fort Canning Hill, the colonial feel and romantic atmosphere is a plus. Walking distance from City Hall MRT Station, for those who don't drive =P

Food is great, especially the deserts. Costs about $120 a person based on a ale-carte menu. Features in-house dining, though I strongly recommend alfresco dining in the cool night breeze.

Close enough to the City to catch a movie after dinner, and even closer to a nice walk in the park :) Dress up and enjoy a night of fine dining.

And did I mention the delicious deserts *yum~* the chefs are friendly and might even accommodate something special for that special night :)

Next up, is the Jewel Box Located at Mount Faber, this scenic place has the following package. Spend a romantic evening with the stars, sand and the sea.

Check out the various packages that the restaurants at Mount Faber has to offer during this period.

If the above options are alittle hard on your wallet. Maybe the Big O Cafe Is the choice for you.

Located at Wheelock Place, the relaxed atmosphere and central location, makes it easy for working parties to spend some quality time together. Must try is the Bacon Wrapped Chicken Leg, but then again, the main course are not the stars in this cafe.

Here, it is the mudpies and cakes that do the talking ^_^x Must tries are the Spike D "Cup", The G-Spot and Indecent Obsession. I will let the names do the talking.

Indulge and sin alittle =P anyway... it is only for one night ;)

My Final Recommendation is for the busy couple. For the pair who are still buried under work on this day. Take a mini break from work with your significant other at Spinelli Coffee.

Located conveniently across the island, this Valentine's Day, they are offering a delicious Valentine's Strawberry Cheesecake at just $4.80 and the Strawberry White Chocolate Latte/ Twist at $5.60 onwards.

Stop, savor the sweetness, and treasure the little happiness in life.

And.... 1 more thing~ :p just for the guy who is frantically searching around for more ideas for that special day, maybe you wanna consider the following 101 Valentine's Day Ideas Great ideas, though some rather clitche. Here is alittle flavour of those that made me go awww~~ ^_^x

Valentine's Idea # 12

If your partner has to work late, take a lunch box and fill it with some of her
favorite things such as chocolates, herbal tea, cookies, a small teddy bear.

Next, get a piece of paper and write

"Michelle's Late Night Survival Pack"

Draw a big red cross below this and stick the paper to the top of the box. Tell
your partner to open the box when things get really tough.

Valentine's Idea # 34

Buy some rose petals and place them behind the sun visor on the passenger
side of your car. Take a post it note and write, "I Love You" on it and stick it to the back of the sun visor.

As you are driving to a romantic destination, look at your partner and tell her
she has a mark on her cheek. She will pull down the sun visor to use the
mirror and be showered in rose petals and see your note.

It seems that a new Banksy has been spotted at L.A. Probably on Holiday I guess. Picture by dogbytedesign

Anyway, it reminded me of an article about Banksy's private artshow in a secret downtown LA warehouse. The showcase, "Barely Legal", lasted from 15th to the 17th Sept 2006. Location was only disclosed at the 11th hour to interested parties.
The following are pictures of the event as taken by Vinyl Pulse Great Stuff. Really wish I was there :(

Yes, Like when you missed out on the Great Singapore Sale.

An attraction at the event was this elephant which was painted exactly like the wallpaper of the showcase room it was in. Are we turning a blind eye to the obvious problems in today's world?

Crying over spilled H... m-oney.

And yes, if I could, I would be one of those who would buy his graffiti. Ironic as it sounds. Love it if they are on shirts :)

and finally, yes, my favourite Banksy piece of all time. Just cracks me up.

See.
