Played it over the week. One word. Epic.
The cinematic is great, puts you there and then in the heat of the battle. Great soundtrack to complement. No frame lags or areas of obstructed views from rocks or overlying cliffs. Fluid game-play and giving you full control of the graceful slaughtering. Ruthless. Satisfying. And there is even a parry function for realistic battles.

Yes, your combos do get blocked, and trying to hide behind your shield all the time does not save your skin, pushing the need to parry.

The game does well in making one thing clear. Though you are Legend, the Ghost of Sparta, Champion of the Gods, God of War.... you are still but a slave of the Gods. Small, in comparison to the epic nature of your foes and surroundings.

And what is a God of War, without its perks?

Must say that I love the design of the candle stick holder, and the way the hot wax spray all over it =P
And yes, I have it saved on my psp.

Currently tackling the challenges of hades and God mode, which makes the game ever more epic.

The only downside is that, at best, it provides 7 hours of solid game-play. A tad short, but it was a satisfying ride. Love how the game brings out the puns in the title, the chains of atlas - cursed to carry the world on his shoulders for eternity, and the chains binding Kratos - cursed to forever lose his humanity for the power to change his fate.
