So yeah, Iphone is the new craze and fad.. and honestly, besides the annoying multiple smses from Iphone users to the rest of the world... (yes, we only see smses 1-by-1).. there is that annoying aspect of the poor reception at times, and even the cutting off of calls midway..
Well, the answer is out.
Yes, it is the way you are holding your phone..
The official statement is as followed:
" Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases. "
So yes, it is all about how you hold the phone.. crummy design if you ask me, as most users are right-handed and would do a left palm clamp on the phone.. maybe the makers were left-handed =P
And a video, just to show that the issue is not only for 4G, but also 3G.
and no.. the issue is not only with you... apparently Apple's marketing team has that misconception too =P
Credits to Engadget for the find ^^x

The name? It's called "Exam"
Eight talented candidates have reached the final stage of selection to join the ranks of a mysterious and powerful corporation. Entering a windowless room, where an armed guard keeps watch, they are given 80 minutes to answer one simple question.
The invigilator outlines three very specific rules that they must obey – and if they don't, they will be disqualified:
1. They must not speak to the invigilator or the guard.
2. They must not spoil their papers.
3. They must not leave the room.
The invigilator starts the clock and leaves.
The candidates turn over their question papers, only to find that they are completely blank.
Tensions rise as the clock counts down to zero, and each candidate must decide how far they are prepared to go to win the ultimate job.
An Australian jury acquitted 23-year-old Nicholas Gonzales of rape because it refused to believe the alleged victim’s skinny jeans could have been removed without “collaboration.”
Gonzales and the alleged victim, a 24-year-old woman, met for drinks in April 2008 and then returned to his house to listen to music. Gonzales claims they had consensual sex together; the victim says she was raped and “I struggled to try to get up for a while and then he undid my jeans and he pulled them off.”
But defense lawyer Paul Hogan said he thought it would be “difficult for skinny jeans to be taken off by someone else unless the wearer’s assisting, collaborating, consenting.” And the jury believed him.
