in a way.. the current society is now reaching that tipping point... we have too many Ph.Ds and too little specialists of skilled fields... even in Singapore.. school or even ITE doesn't prepare you to be a good cobbler, watch maker, seamstress, key maker... jobs vital to the maintenance of everyday life as you know it... family business shunned by the younger generation... in 20-30 years when the older generation stop working... will we have to turn to automation to meet our basic needs? Are we too myopic in our view of the future? Or just too stubborn to change?
