Developed by Zhipeng Wu, University of Manchester... all you do is dip your boob in the boob cup, and receive real-time video images in using the radio frequency scanner which would clearly and simply show the presence of a tumour.
"This portable unit, which packs all the necessary electronic components into a package the size of a lunchbox, allows for quick, painless breast cancer exams outside of clinical setting... and could allow women at high risk to monitor themselves regularly at home."
Well, I must say, that this looks like a great improvement, and would be more feasible I guess for women who have a flatter chest... the traditional mammogram can be a quite painful process for some... also, as its real-time and not a x-ray shot, clinicians can probably tailor the process and tell more from the images, much like during an ultrasound.
