In your excitment, you realise race to the prize shop, only to be greeted by....

And realising that... you are 400 points short of... or 400/10 = 40 games short of...

And you are tormented by your ACIII stats, since every 20 goals means 1 hour wasted when you should be studying for your bioscience degree. ZOMG PWNED!@!!!

So you decide maybe you should enroll in some tuition classes in a desperate attempt to make up loss time... but the tuition centres just seem so different like they used to be..

Well, at least in this one month... you took some time off to spend time with you friends and live normal lives (didn't play the 2 hours of ACIII cup)... well.. but wth...now you are upset, and you are wondering why hello kitty is so tanned that it looks like she is taking part in the Nike Human Race 10k+

And you realise, ZOMG!!! I am running that race too, I need to start getting my butt moving...
But it is too physically attached tp your chair and you decide that tomorrow is a better day... so you surf youtube.. and come across...

And you realise... ZOMFG!!!@@!! I might be singing this as my company's theme song every monday before work... for the next 20 years... ZOMFG!!! PWNED. Period.

And correction to the last post, there is actually more. Some dudes at CollegeHumor.com   actually made a 9 Part series about it. Nostalgic. But gotta say, the effects are quite cool, a mini Heroes series =3

And just when I thought the previous entry of street fighters was rolf'optor..

Went with the Montfort Guys for supper. Amazingly, Marcus picked us up. OMG. And, HHY sat in the backseat while we drove to Thompson for prata. OMIGOSH!!

And elusive shot of the rare red and white mushroom.

And before we set off for Serangoon for part 2, we had alittle action.

Pity xiao qiang, I don't think he made it to serangoon. There, we settled down at a Durian stall. Lei and SX set off to test their goods and use their honed skill to pick the best. Kudos to SX. Although the same can't be said with Lei

Well, bigger is not always better. Epic FAIL. And even Nick tried to open a Durian too.

When you best just doesn't co-relate into results... well, at least he looks satisfied with his attempt =3

Savouring the moment

Satisfied Customer

Another shot of the elusive mushroom. Just managed to fit him into the frame.

The carnage

More Carnage

Out of sight, out of mind

Dang... and I am suppose to be training for the race... oh well.... tomorrow...

And, I am sure you have heard of it already.

Yes, the Nike Human Race 10k+   (I love the pun).. It will be held worldwide, in over 25 cities, and in addition, runners with Nike+ products can join in on the race, at any location possible.

Its SGD$25 for participants under 25 in Singapore and comes with a goodie bag, water bottle and dry-fit shirt. And you get a 20% off all Nike running products.

So then again, why am I running? Well, firstly, proceeds go to 1 of 3 charities of your choice. It is a global run on the 31st of August. And there are the bands! Not sure how they are going to be incorporated into the race, but there is going to be a huge concert at the padang, and Boys like Girls will be there !! ^_^x

Alrighty, so it's a 10km race. From 4.30pm till 6.30pm. 2 hours to complete before they remove the barricades. Not intending to be competitive, rather to enjoy the view. Having in mind an idea of running/joggin 6km and walking/limping the remaining 4km. And decided to try it out. Did a "trial" run of 5.5km.. stopped due to slight abrasions from the socks I was wearing.

Lesson learnt, don't wear thin socks with sewn designs at the sides for the race. Well, go more training to do before the race. Let's complete it together!!

Okay, took awhile to upload everything, due to some network issues, so these posts are alittle back. First up, would be Daniel's departure. Both Ernest and I went to send him off.

A moment between buddies

And a minute between Strugglers

Finally, some wise words from the Shifu.

Good Riddance We will miss you =3

Storyline: 2.5/3
(It doesn't go in depth as to how Bruce becomes batman, or how did the Joker came about, but it showed the build up to Two-Face and the thought behind the workings of the Joker, Two-Face and eventually the dark knight. A tad long, but the twists will keep you engaged.)
Effects/Music: 2/2
(I am thoroughly impressed with the sound effects in this movie. Not only those it adds weight to the action sequences, but the effective use of the music piece "Why so Serious?" by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard.)
Emotional/Tension: 2/2
(It's a thrill ride that surpasses most horror films. The "ringing" sound really builds up the tension and complements the tormented Joker and really made me twitch in my seat. You are expecting it, but the Joker is just so twisted that it sends shivers. Right from the starting sequence, you are stuck on this ride into the twisted mind of the Joker.)
Humour: 0.5/1
(Really serious movie with few light hearted moments. But, I must say, the Joker, twisted as he may be, does serve as a comical relief at times, making him even more unpredictable.)
Chemistry: 1/1
(I personally felt the Chemistry between Rachel and Bruce or Harvey was a tad cold. Didn't really feel the connection at times. But, I am blown away by the way the Joker fits into each scene with the characters, really complements and completes the movie.)
Hotness: 1/1
(Maggie Gyllenhaal(Rachel)'s puppy eyes are a tad cute, but it stops at that. Unless you like office women in suits. The guys don't really turn on the heat, although I am giving full points for the Heath Ledger(Joker), not exactly hot, but his appearance in this movie is definitely stunning and will be remembered.)

OveraLL: 9/10

Frankly, I believe that this is the blockbuster of 2008. Period. And I believe that Heath Ledger's performance will be remembered in generations to come. Period.

And believe me, when I say that I ended up flinching and watching from between my fingers.
Why so serious? Lets put a smile on that face!

Despair, Inc.

And the featured webby this week is Despair, Inc.   Increasing Success by lowering Expectations! =3

Alrighty~ despite the tight manning, most of us (7/10) managed to meet up at 1Rochester. Reached there around 8pm. About a 5 minutes walk from Borna Vista MRT. Opp the NTU Alumni building. Parking is alittle tight, there is a small parking area, or you can pay $8 for valet service.

Chose the outdoor garden setting. Surprisingly small crowd for a Saturday night. Lush greenery, blocking the sights and surprisingly the sounds of the outside world. And no worries on insects bothering you in this jungle atmosphere.

Current deals are 3 Martinis for $38 or 4 hr free flow Martinis for $58, however, both deals are per person. We took the other deal, 5 different beers from their list for $50++. Quite a long list I must say. Detailed too. Spent quite a while reading the list of cocktails and wines.

Potato Wedges were quite tasty, though the cost of $12 didn't justify.

And I believe Darren when he said his $32 dark leg was tasty :k it better be =3

Breaded cheesy Jalapenos was disappointing, $14 and I couldn't taste the spice. Maybe it was too cheesy =P Practically overflowing.

Potato skins with sour cream. Didn't really go sour either.

Overall, it is a great place to chill out from the buzz of the city. Cars might be a problem, and you might get tempted with the choices of cocktails available. Drinks are priced reasonably for me, and service was decent. Although the lack of a tv for screenings or loud music makes this purely a chit-chat unwinding place, perfect to get to know each other more.
A plus point to note is that there are a series of restaurants along the stretch of rochester park, much like dempsey hill, though didn't get the chance to check them out.

Over the weekends, we went on a roadtrip to lovely Malaysia. After a long wait, coz you cannot cut traffic anymore at the causeway to Malaysia due to a Camera threatening to summon you, we arrived at Taman Sentosa.

We decided to indulge in a hongkong cafe.

That served San-Se Nai Cha (3 coloured tea), this is the iced version. Still very sweet.

Porridge came in cute cups

And old fashioned tang-yuan for that sense of nostalgia

Creative twists to local foods, like curry fried dumpling noodles. And no, Nicholas sold separately.

And on a side note, an interesting find at a local petrol mart. Soya Bandung. Quite refreshing I must say :p

Went to Ice Monster at PS the other day too. (Quite outdated these entries :p) Personally its more like a fast food, eat and go kinda place.

The ice mango and durian. On its own, each flavour was great, but didn't really go well together.

And I had some of the BBQ sauce beef noodles. The portion was kinda small, but the gravy was really rich and thick. Yummy!

In all, the food is great, but ranging from $12-$15 per dish, it is on the steep side. Best shared with friends for a quick snack or cravings munchie =P

Week ago, ate at Hhy's Kopitiam after a swimming session (Yes, actual laps). Was quite disappointed by the new Zhi Cha owners over there. This was my Pai Gu Huang Fan.

Mmmm... typical Indian meal, with the rice, but hey, where is the meat? Oh there... all 3 large slices. Mmmm.

I am officially banning that stall.

On the side note, its interesting that although work in Singapore is largely taken over by the PRC, they themselves are franchising their work out too.

Borat-watch.
