Roomie asked us out to Sakuraya Fish Market   during the holiday the previous week...

Its situated at Village Centre.. which is somewhere near Habourfront area..

Located on the second floor...

And overlooking Harry's Bar...

Basically it is very much like a high-class fish market... you have the fish displayed...

Different types of fish... and different cuts...

With the prices labelled on the packaging...

And there are whole live fish too...

Nice sakura themed cups... love the shade of pink =P

And you can order sashimi... which comes from whatever fish you chose.. thick juicy slices... that are not frozen hard.. although they came from the cooler... but just right and tender..

Or you can have them prepare it... live fish can be served raw or cooked... your choice...

Overall.. I must say that it is great food.. Although each of us paid $25 (6 of us shared) and were still a tad hungry after it.. due to the lack of rice and noodles... but the cuts are very much juicier and fresher than those from buffets or other japanese restaurants... Each chunk of fish from the cooler were priced between $9-$14 and it is a hearty serving with thick slices... unlike the shredded ones at buffets..

Downside is transportation is hard.. there are a few buses and a carpark beside it.. and I must say.. although it seems quite popular with news articles   about it and all... most of the customers are Japanese.. Do come before 6pm as that is when the crowd strolls in... Supply is limited so coming late might mean a limitation in fish choices..
