A lecturer introduced PhD Comics to us some time back ( yes, I only just had time to explore it =( ), and found it really interesting. The webby, takes a dig at graduated students who are doing their PhDs, but personally I felt that some of the situations already apply to us as undergrads.
So yeah, if you're here despite of the exams... destress ^_^x.
Oh the late nights....
And haven you noticed....

Looking back at old spoofs... still like this... its by Power 98's Power Cruising, and has been on the radio for quite some time, although it was a tad overshadowed by Don and Drew. Enjoy ^_^x
Mmmm... most peeps are probably at the crunch-time of their exams... mine is approaching too... this weekend sure will be a long one... welll... been dragging myself on with music... here is another interesting one... a para-para/techno song, "Night of Fire".. that has been resung in Japanese by 2 different girl groups..
First is by Dream or DRM when they were a 3-girls group. Something about Japanese girls shaking and going "oh oh oh oh", that makes this video quite hot =3
The next girl group is Hinoi Team. In this mtv, the 4 girls are doing para-para with Koriki Choshu, a comedian wrestler who wears a really short shirt.
To watch the hilarious MTV and even an Instructional video click here to read on... ^_^x
Disturbingly short shirt and lack of pants. But the girls make up for it =3
And, the funniest part that brightened up my day, was coming across this instructional video, where, Koriki teaches you on the fine art of para-para. Love the close-ups! Really ZOMGWTHBBQ!! =x
Okay, first off, did alittle revamping of the layout. Have been receiving feedback that the pages do tad get a bit long, and in an effort to minimise the length of the page, I do have to limit the contents as times.
Well, hopefully this layout will help minimise the length of the page and loading time, while maximising content ^_^x
Now, back to the article. Heard this on the radio, and I just had to check up on it.
Komsomolskaya, Russia - A 28-year-old Russian man, Artyom Sidorkin, went to doctors complaining about chest pain and coughing up blood. Doctors concluded that it was due to a cancerous tumour and that it had to be surgically removed. However, when they opened him up, they found a 5-centimeter fir tree growing inside his lung.
Medical staff believe Sidorkin had somehow inhaled a seed, which later sprouted into the small fir tree inside his lung. The tree managed to start growing within one of Sidorkin’s capillaries, causing extreme pain.
I guess the more disturbing issue is the following comment.
"We were 100 per cent sure," said surgeon Vladimir Kamashev from Izhevsk in the Urals. "We did X-rays and found what looked exactly like a tumour.
Yes... sadly surgeons can't tell the difference between fir trees and tumours =P
And for those interested... click to take a look at the fir tree upclose.
[[ Warning: Contains blood!! ]]
Last month, I came across 2 short films, Notte Sento and World Builder in which there was no dialogue. Instead, the story was propelled by the music, facial expression and actions.
This time, it is a short film by Director Patrick Hughes, for the Schweppes short film festival. Spanning 11 minutes, it is a really sweet comedy done much words. Love how the main characters interacted. So simplistic, yet totally relatable in our internet age.
Love the ending. Haven you always wondered, how it would be like, to finally meet someone whom you have chatted online with all this while. How close, yet distant, it would be.
Where do you find love?
If we knew, we would all know where to look.
Sometimes...
All you need is a sign.
Came across this feature over the weekend that I thought was really cool. Called the Bumptop, it is a tool that allows you to add weight and a new dimension to your desktop.
It allows you to stack folders or files on your desktop, pin things up on the board, and even allows you to toss things freely on the desktop (not confined to those rigid arrangements.
Personally, I love it. I like how it gives interactivity and a feel to your otherwise virtual desktop. But, like most themes and tools, its performance really depends on your computer's capabilities.
Yup. Will definitely try this out on my PC when I get home over the holidays and fill you peeps in on it.
Studying Virology... Gotta say that I get really emo at times when I'm studying on the history and details of such subjects... I guess it really dawns to me these days that... soon, I'm most probably going to be out there too.. joining a team to explore into the unknown.. and.. in times of crisis... we will be the ones at the frontlines... exposed to the risks... intentionally or unintentionally...
and looking at the lives lost in this ongoing struggle... suddenly... life seems really fragile.
*sigh*
I guess that is the cost of knowledge at times. Sacrifices are made.
Been listening to these songs over the day so far... I guess... If we live till a 100 years... 23 just seems like a 1/4 of the way there... but if we live till 50... we are almost half-way done with it.
Man, I really wanna play the piano. Always feel so envious when I see others playing it eyes closed and floating with the music.
All the best with the exams all ^_^x We'll get through it.
" I guess we're big and I guess we're small.
If you think about it man you know we got it all.
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball.
I love you freely. "
Last year... the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports’s (MCYS) Family commercial - "Red Shoes" touched the hearts of many through its simple yet effective message.
This year, MCYS worked with Director Yasmin Ahmad, to come up with the following commercial, titled - "Funeral", which will air till 16th May on all 4 language channels. Interesting choice to use the end, a bleak and sorrowful moment, as a source of motivation and hope.
What were the last things that you remembered about someone? Or were you moving too fast to even notice?
Each one of us, is but a sum of many different little things.. that make up a unique whole.
Do take a look at the thought behind the video too. Quality is quite bad (most probably from a camera hp) but it does provide valuable insights and perspectives.
"In the end... it is these little things...
... little imperfections...
... that make them perfect...
... for you."
8 more days... been quite tired these few days... just managed to finish all my reports... so I guess now is when the real revision starts... phew... like a walking zombie these days... just making through the day with the vibes of music...
One of the few tracks that is keeping me going... Eurodancer by Dj Mangoo... nice trance track ^_^x
And the main reason why I love this track is the piano piece at the front... *haha* *dreamy~*
How I wish I was musically talented with my fingers... rapping seems to be the only musically inclined thing that comes naturally for me.... oh well... maybe some of us were meant to be musicians.. and others stuck as test-tube washers...
The hesitation...
The lectures and talks...
In the eyes of the lecturer...
Why are we even studying??
And my favourite... an ironical parody of the evolution of man.... or students in this case.... from a graduate (JC/Poly)... to the lab work that never gives you the expected results... to the reports that never quite make sense... and finally churning it all out with font 11 double spacing and bound with a plastic cover sheet. Life is like that =P
