Always thought your Chung-Ko was just for digging your shell scrape or poop hole? Think again.

One of those things in life, that you always wanted to get right, but never did so.

Months back, I posted about another video by Everynone, titled "Moments"... and loved how they subtly linked seemingly random shots together seamlessly...

Loving the same magic in their latest video too =3 Enjoy!

Sometimes, science and technology just blows me away.

And if you want more details on the product, or intend to get one anytime soon =3

Redefining the term "Dirt Cheap".

and if you really have trouble with this... maybe the comments over here can lend you a hand =3

and the truth is out =x

Thought of the day.

After reading the article about how it is ensured that your vote during the upcoming general elections is kept a secret...

and it got me thinking...

Maybe the worries/issues of "voting secrecy" is not really about the conspiracy theories or lack of transparency...

But rather a silent realization on a personal level, that at this point in your life... despite your idealistic views... deep down... what you are fighting for... ain't worth dying for =/

Let's say you fall in love with a die-hard gamer chick, rare as they may be, and wanna ask for her hand in marriage.. how would you do it?

Why not make a proposal on the very game that brought you both together?

Well, that's what Ben did when he proposed to his girlfriend Tora =3

and I gotta say the people at Gearbox Software, all the way to their CEO Randy Pitchford, are dang cool and worthy of my utmost respect... in a world where the developers seems cold or unresponsive to their gamers at large.. here is a company that is willing to go the extra mile to make their loyal supporters special!

and if you are dying to know how it went.. well here it is ^^x

Mixing religion, science and fun all into one =P

Months back, I posted about the science behind the burger lab... well for Easter, I thought, why not let's look at the science of getting the perfect boiled egg?

and boy, are they precise in their science for it =O

But I gotta say, that egg there is to die for =3
According to them, with the following constants,

  • Eggs from the fridge (4°C)
  • Large, or moderately sized eggs
  • Large volume of water (So that there is no significant drop in temperature on adding the eggs)
  • Boil water to 82°C

And it will take around 6 minutes, give or take 15 seconds.

and a reminder why last week was probably the best week in 2011 =3

Personally, I love long weekends, because they give you the chance to reflect on your life thus far.

Did you know that the peace sign actually stands for nuclear disarmament?

Its just one of those moments, when you go pass a place, and a memory of a moment... that can never be changed... returns to you... and deep down you realise, how simply, it could have all been different.

I think these 2 photos from the photo entry on TwntySmthg.sg speaks for themselves... do have a read at the entire post and ponder on how often you neglect such sights in your everyday lives.

A look into the history leading up to the one few games that we all played =3

I simply adore these ^^x

USD $55 from Blend Design

Am I the only one who totally saw it as GryffiNOOB =/

Edit: Noticed a comment asking where to get these, well, sadly these are currently concept art from the designer Jay Angeles... you can check out his gallery of NIKE dunk concepts on his deviantART page... and maybe one day, they might become reality =P

Save time off your life =P

Alternatively, if you are afraid of splattering ketchup around, you could shake or tap the sides of the closed bottle then open it =3

Yeah, weeks ago, I posted up the studio version of Bruno Mars' Lazy Song... and guess what =P

Complete with boxer shorts and Poreotix =P

As featured on Discovery News... A new study has shown that sleeping can significantly improve the learning of tasks... and yes, the world rejoices =3

"Researchers at the University of California-Berkeley studied 44 college-aged participants at two different times of day -- once at noon and again at 6 p.m. Half the group was allowed to take a nap from 2 p.m. to 3:40 p.m., while the rest stayed awake throughout the day.

At noon and 6 p.m., researchers measured how both groups performed in facial memory tests, finger tapping memory tests and an alertness test.

The "Nap" group performed significantly better at learning tasks when tested later in the day in comparison to subjects who did not take a lengthy nap.

The team also measured brain activity while subjects napped using an electroencephalogram. They found that success in learning correlated with the amount of stage-2 non rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, the stage preceding deep rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.

The research is unique because it points to a mechanism that may reveal sleep's importance for encoding new information -- sleep spindles, or short bursts of cell activity between areas of the brain during NREM."

So on Tuesday, The Script held their 1 night only concert at Fort Canning... seriously, the tickets weren't cheap.. at a hundred bucks.. and to make matters worst... it rained like up to the hour before the concert... but nevertheless.. the soggy ground, muddy shoes, humid atmosphere didn't stop fans from flocking to the concert =3

so here's some of the highlights of the concert, as taken from various videos uploaded onto youtube~

Totally my favourite Script song out of both their albums... just something I deeply relate to... needless to say, this was an emotional ballad for me ='(

"... Of all of the things that she's ever said...
... she goes and says something that just knocks me dead...
... you won't find faith or hope down a telescope...
... you won't find heart and soul in the stars...
... you can break everything down to the chemicals...
... but you can't explain a love like ours... "

Just love the freestyle and charisma in this one

I gotta say.. I totally love concerts whereby the crowd just sings along to it... it is just such an emotional setting ^^x

and here they are giving insight into the inspiration behind the song "Nothing"..

and a high quality version of the same song minus the intro =P

and finally ^^x

"... before the worst...
...before we mend...
...before our hearts decided it's time to love again...
... before too late...
... before too long...
... let's try and take it back before it all went wrong..."

Break the rules once again =3

Face it. You will never be as cool as him.

As Adidas puts it... Impossible in Nothing.

Make The Difference.

8-bit orgasmic.

Great for people with wheelchairs or weakness in the upper limbs/fingers that would otherwise prevent them from removing the pin and pressing the handle of a conventional fire extinguisher... but honestly, this really makes me wanna put out some fire in a badassed-L4D2-kind-of-way... you might need to stock up on the ammunition for bo-bo shooters though =P

The interesting phenomenon of afterimages... Just stare at the dot in the picture below =3

"... Negative afterimages are caused when the eye's photoreceptors, primarily those known as cone cells, adapt from the overstimulation and lose sensitivity.[1] Normally the eye deals with this problem by rapidly moving small amounts (see: microsaccade), the motion later being "filtered out" so it is not noticeable. However if the color image is large enough that the small movements are not enough to change the color under one area of the retina, those cones will eventually tire or adapt and stop responding. The rod cells can also be affected by this.

When the eyes are then diverted to a blank space, the adapted photoreceptors send out a weak signal and those colors remain muted. However, the surrounding cones that were not being excited by that color are still "fresh", and send out a strong signal. The signal is exactly the same as if looking at the opposite color, which is how the brain interprets it.

Ewald Hering explained how the brain sees afterimages, in terms of three pairs of primary colors. This opponent process theory states that the human visual system interprets color information by processing signals from cones and rods in an antagonistic manner. The opponent color theory suggests that there are three opponent channels: red versus cyan, blue versus yellow, and black versus white. Responses to one color of an opponent channel are antagonistic to those to the other color. Therefore, a green image will produce a magenta afterimage. The green color tires out the green photoreceptors, so they produce a weaker signal. Anything resulting in less green, is interpreted as its paired primary color, which is magenta... "

The sad truth =/

One of the games I'm looking forward to this year ^^x... really since Diablo 3 is like delayed till God knows when... this is the closest thing to it =3

Has a richer storyline than any of the Diablo series thus far, but with the arcade action hack-slash theme of the series... but only in this 3rd installment is there going to be co-op play.

So far what has been gathered is that 1 copy of the game can allow for 2 players to play on the same screen locally.. which is cool, like a game at the arcades... it can also support up to 4 players online, but it is unclear if you need 4 copies, like L4D2, or 2 copies, with 2 players playing locally is possible...

Either way, I'm quite sold to the idea... guess I will wait till end of May for the release... currently, there is an offer on STEAM for you to pre-oder DS:III and get DS:I and DS:II for free... quite good for those wanting to get the back-story.. for me... I guess I rather wait for an overall discount on the game itself =P

and here's a look at the co-op play locally with 2 players...

really hope it will be as fun as LOTR:ROTK was many years back... really yearn for some co-op play while sitting side by side on the couch... just makes it so much more exciting!!

Months back, I posted about the awesome Teh Tarik Guy from Chatucak, Thailand... now there is another awesome Rojak dude from Penang =3

What a cute idea!! =3

Finally the weekends... 1 more month till my report is due.. but honestly? I feel like doing nothing at all =P

Love the irony/sarcasm in this short piece ^^x great idea for my upcoming script =3

In recent years, the AIDS epidemic has spread across China... as quoted from the BBC News report in 2009:

"... A report by the country's state media said HIV/Aids had led to the deaths of almost 7,000 people in the first nine months of 2008.

The number of deaths caused by tuberculosis and rabies fell back into second and third place.

The numbers are increasing dramatically - China's Ministry of Health say that until three years ago, fewer than 8,000 people altogether had died from HIV/Aids.

By last year, the total had risen to five times that many.

Data on HIV in China are still unreliable. Official reporting of cases does seem to have improved.

The central authorities seem more willing to recognise HIV as a public health crisis and address it with education campaigns.

But there are still concerns that officials at local and provincial level are under-reporting, either by mistake or because they think it's not in their interest to show rises... "

and the figures from the Chinese Aids website, does show a similar trend of widespread infection...

and while activists continue to fight against the government to bring the truth to light... there is a new growing problem in China.

Recently, a highly contagious AIDS-like disease is spreading in different areas in China, with these patients turning up negative for the HIV tests. I had mentioned before in my review of "House of Numbers" about the flaws and limitations of the HIV tests... however, what is disturbing is the clinical observations of this new disease..

From the Epoch times:

"... the disease seems to be highly contagious and can spread by contact via any bodily fluid-through kissing, shared utensils, sweat, and even protected sex... "

this is very much different from HIV infections which primarily occurs from contact with blood or sexual secretions... and much more contagious and deadlier like that of SARS or even Ebola... if so.. it does seem like a epidemic waiting to happen =/

Erm, so in the future... Singaporeans might be going overseas to horse-board instead of cable-ski?

Just curious though... is it closer to wake-boarding? or chariot racing? =3

With Shapeways, customers choose from the designs that they want, and the material they like it to be printed on... thus lots of artists have started uploading their 3D print designs for customers to order from... as it saves them the hassle and cost of actually having to physically make the object and all in stock or advanced...

and with that, we get more intricate ideas that normally would have been abandoned.. like dices ^^x

Hollow Roman Dice - SGD $5.31

Thorn Dice Set with Decader - SGD $33.97
